Why Star Jones isn’t talking about her divorce

What happened
Former View co-host Star Jones filed for divorce from her husband, Al Reynolds, this week. Jones reportedly partly blames the split on media intrusion into her private life. Jones and Reynolds married three and a half years ago in a media-filled wedding. (The Celebrity Cafe)

What the commentators said
“Oh, what a shock!” said Nicole Graham in Enews.com. Ever since Jones and Reynolds got hitched, “everyone has been talking about their divorce.” Want the juicy details? Sorry. The divorce papers are sealed, and “the cause of the split-up remains undisclosed.”

“Don’t expect to hear the former View blabbermouth yippin’ and yappin’ about her divorce,” said The Boston Herald’s Inside Track blog. Jones made that mistake with her circus of a wedding, and she says she has “learned her lesson” and won't talk about what went wrong.

Maybe Reynolds will shed some light on the subject, said Gina Serpe in E! Online. Rumor has it the 39-year-old banker has been “shopping around a tell-all book” about his romantic past and his relationship with Jones. But, sorry again, so far no publisher has taken the bait.

Funny, the wedding certainly was a crowd-pleaser, said Elizabeth Snead in the Los Angeles Times’ Dish Rag blog. The "extravagant" affair—"500 guests, 12 bridesmaids, and four flower girls"—even had corporate “'sponsors'—think freebies.” What, nobody wants to sponsor the divorce?

She invited the media into her private life. She even wrote a book detailing her most intimate moments. You know, she thought we could all learn from her expertise on love, life, etc.

Gossip

With her alleged stalker seated across the room, Uma Thurman read aloud a note from the obsessed fan in a New York City courtroom last week. The actress said she “was completely freaked out” by a card from Jack Jordan with a drawing of an open grave and the message, “My hands should be on your body at all times.” Jordan is accused of harassing Thurman through frequent attempts to contact her. His notes “reflected this relationship that I unfortunately imagined that we had,” he testified, and were “meant to amuse her, to her endear her to me.”
